    Riccardo Procacci

    CEO

    Riccardo is the CEO of Avio Aero

    He is a 30-year veteran of General Electric, where he has held global assignments in Italy, the Asia-Pacific region, and India in the Oil and Gas and Aviation divisions. In addition to his role as Avio Aero CEO, he also serves as President and CEO of GE Aerospace’s Propulsion & Additive Technologies, which includes four independent companies – Avio Aero, Unison, Dowty, and Colibrium Additive – supporting GE Aerospace and external customers worldwide.

    Riccardo holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Turbomachinery from La Sapienza University in Rome (Italy).

    Vito Alfarano

    Operations General Manager

    Vito is the Operations General Manager of Avio Aero 

    Prior to GE, Vito had more than 20 years of experience in automotive leading companies, including several global scale leadership roles in Operations, Quality and Lean transformation programs. In his current position, he is responsible for driving customer delivery, quality, and cost for Avio Aero’s global Supply Chain. 

    Vito holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy).

    Marilea Athanasopoulou

    HR Leader

    Marilea is the the Human Resources Leader of Avio Aero

    She has over 20 years of experience with the General Electric Company and has covered a number of HR roles in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Aviation businesses. 

    Marilea holds a Psychology Degree from the University of Padua in Italy and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois (USA).

    Scott Burdick

    Northstar Aerospace CEO

    Scott is the CEO of Northstar Aerospace

    He began his career at Goodrich Aerospace, where he spent 22 years in various operational leadership roles across a range of systems. Following this, Scott served as the President of TECT Aerospace and later as General Manager at Wyman Gordon, a PCC company.

    Scott earned his degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana (USA)

    Piera Carra

    CIO

    Piera is the Chief Information Officer of Avio Aero

    She has more than 30 years of experience in Digital Technologies matured working both in Industrial and consulting companies where she has developed technical expertise, as well as management consulting skills and an extensive understanding of business processes.

    Over the years, Piera has been involved in key digital areas: from Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, including Additive Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 Platforms.

    Piera holds a degree in computer science from the University of Turin (Italy).

    Massimo Castorina

    Sales & Commercial, Strategy and Marketing Leader

    Massimo is the Sales & Commercial, Strategy and Marketing Leader of Avio Aero

    He leads Sales & Commercial, Strategy and Marketing at Avio Aero, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
    After few years spent in the automotive sector working in Italy, Spain and France, he began his journey at Avio Aero - then Fiat Avio - in 2002 as a Program Manager, building a strong foundation in customer programs, operations, and lifecycle support. Over the following years, he expanded his leadership across major European aerospace companies in the commercial and services domains, taking on increasing responsibility for customer engagement, global teams, and aftermarket performance. He later returned to Avio Aero to drive the company’s market strategy, portfolio growth, and business development across platforms and services.

    Massimo holds a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy).

    Paul Corkey

    Catalyst General Manager

    Paul is the Catalyst General Manager

    He is a 30-year veteran with the General Electric Company, where he held global assignments in the US, Asia and Europe in the Aviation and Power divisions.

    Paul holds a BS Marine Engineering from the US Merchant Marine Academy and an MBA from Virginia Tech (USA).

    Edoardo Curti

    Defence Business Unit General Manager

    Edoardo is the Defence Business Unit General Manager of Avio Aero

    He joined Avio Aero – at that time Fiat Avio - in 2000 as a design engineer. He spent the early part of his career in Engineering, first at Avio Aero and later at a major automotive company. Since returning to Avio Aero in 2014, he has held various roles across Operations and Programs, leading key program initiatives and building strong experience in aerospace product management.

    Edoardo holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy).

    Valentina Frignati

    Compliance Leader


    Valentina is the Compliance Leader of Avio Aero

    She joined Avio Aero as Compliance Leader, bringing over 15 years of experience from a leading Italian law firm in Milan, as well as one year at a prestigious American law firm in New York. She has an extensive experience in corporate compliance and global investigations.

    Valentina holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Milan and an LL.M. degree in International Business Regulation, Litigation, and Arbitration from NYU School of Law. She is a dual-qualified attorney in Italy and New York (USA).

    Laura Holmes

    H-M Turboprop Business Unit General Manager


    Laura is the H-M Turboprop Business Unit General Manager of Avio Aero

    Prior to GE Aerospace, she had more than 20 years of experience in the aerospace business, leading both service and manufacturing operations worldwide, driving supply chain optimization and execution, developing strategy and plans for market share growth, while optimizing organizations to support a range of commercial and military customers. She has lived and worked in multiple countries throughout her career.

    Laura holds a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Vermont, (USA).

    Francesco Macchiaroli

    General Counsel

    Francesco is the General Counsel of Avio Aero

    He has been with GE for more than 18 years, where he covered multiple senior counsel roles for different GE Businesses covering Europe and Middle East.  Prior to GE, Francesco gained experience in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and in a Magic Circle law firm between Milan and London. 

    Francesco graduated in Law at the University of Naples (Italy), and specialized (DESS) at the law school of the University of Poitiers (France). He was admitted to the Italian bar.

    Francesco Maciariello

    Engineering Leader

    Francesco is the Engineering Leader of Avio Aero

    He joined Avio Aero - at that time Fiat Aviazione - in 1990 as a design engineer. Throughout the years, he has built strong product knowledge, covering multiple roles across different organizations, from Engineering to Global Supply Chain. He has held different responsibilities in design and systems engineering, becoming the Leader for Mechanical Design. He also joined the Global Supply Chain team as the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and NPI Leader returning to Engineering as the Additive Technology Life Cycle Leader.

    Francesco holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rome (Italy).

    CFO

    Homyar is the CFO of Avio Aero

    He has been with General Electric for 25 years,  where he has held assignments across different GE businesses including Appliances, Transportation and Aviation.

    Homyar is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

    Alfredo Marin

    Business Operations Leader

    Alfredo is the Business Operations Leader of Avio Aero

    He began his career at the former Fiat Aviazione in 1987 in Engineering. Over the course of his more than 30-year career, he has held various roles in program management across both commercial and military markets. He also served as Vice President of Commercial Programs, leading program management and commercial organizations and Vice President of Product Management & Customer Support.

    Alfredo holds a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master in Production Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy).

    Antonella Nerino

    Safety & Quality Management System Leader

    Antonella is the Safety & Quality Management System (SQMS) Leader of Avio Aero

    She brings over two decades of global management experience in Safety Management and Quality Assurance, working with some of the most important companies in the aerospace industry. Her expertise covers areas like Product Quality, Quality Systems, and Program Quality, and she has taken on increasingly significant roles in these fields throughout her career.

    Antonella earned her Master’s Degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Naples Federico II (Italy).

    Fabiana Panni

    Commercial Aviation Business Unit General Manager

    Fabiana is the Commercial Aviation Business Unit General Manager of Avio Aero

    She started her career in telecommunications companies, working for 9 years in Operations, Sales and Marketing.

    She joined the former Avio in 2007 and, in her career, she has covered different roles in Sourcing, Program Management, Engineering, Digital Technology, Lean and as Flight Deck Operations Leader.

    Fabiana holds a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, an Aerospace PhD from the Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy) and a Master in Marketing Management.

    Barbara Ramaglia

    Communications & Public Affairs Leader

    Barbara is the Communications & Public Affairs Leader of Avio Aero

    She has over 20 years of experience in external and internal communications, government relations and corporate social responsibility supporting various organizations in Europe, the US and Asia.

    Barbara holds a Master’s Degree in Asian Languages and Literatures from the University of Turin (Italy).
